Her IEEE experience ranges from serving as the Treasurer of IEEE’s Panama Section to being recognized as the most active member with the “Manuel López Spla” award in 2019.

What sets Ms. Barrera apart for the role of Industry Vice-Chair for the Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference and Exhibition is her unique combination of technical acumen, managerial competence, and an intimate understanding of the industry’s landscape. Given that the Industry Vice-Chair should coordinate with the PES Governing Board to target increased utility participation, Ms. Barrera’s demonstrated skill in stakeholder engagement and leadership roles within IEEE will be invaluable.

Additionally, her current and past roles require her to be deeply involved with utilities, allowing her to work cohesively with the Technical Program Chair in incorporating tracks focused on industry and utilities.

Ms. Barrera’s well-rounded skill set and exceptional industry reputation make her an ideal candidate to successfully guide and enrich the Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference and Exhibition, ensuring a program that resonates with both academic and industry stakeholders.

As a dedicated and experienced member of the IEEE Panama Section with prior experience in conference organization, Greizy will ensure this event meets the highest technical quality standards that characterize her work. She will also ensure that the program incorporates tracks focused on industry and utilities, along with planning a keynote plenary session with utility and industry technology experts.
